545 KT&G Holds an Exhibition for Next-Generation Photographers’ Collections 2013.09.11




 

 

KT&G (CEO Min Young-jin) is exhibiting the collections of 21 photographers who participated in the support program for Korean photographers (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship; KT&G SKOPF) until September 29 at the Hongdae KT&G Sangsang Madang.

 

KT&G has operated the support program for Korean photographers since 2008 with the aim of discovering and providing support to young photographers who will lead the Korean photography world. This exhibition was prepared to gather in one place original works by the next-generation photographers who have applied with their works so far in order to present them to visitors, and to get an overview of the topographic map of the Korean photography world through major historical photographs taken in the late 2000s.

 

In addition to the exhibition of the works, KT&G also have an opening party to provide opportunities for the photographers to have exchanges with each other and to hold an open workshop where visitors can have a direct, face-to-face talk with photographers.

 

KT&G Social Contribution Manager Lee Eung-chul said, We have held this exhibition to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the opening of the KT&G Sangsang Madang,adding that it will be a meaningful place to see the changing trends in the Korean photography world at a glance.

 

Since 2007, KT&G has operated the combined cultural space KT&G Sangsang Madang and discovered young amateur artists through continued support in the field of non-mainstream culture and art, while providing the public with a wide range of opportunities to enjoy culture.
