KT&G Sangsangmadang Hosts Emerging Artists Exhibition 'Blossom of Newness' 2024.02.06
KT&G Sangsangmadang is hosting the 'Blossom of Newness' exhibition, in collaboration with art agency '9AND' (Nine and), at the Daechi Gallery until the 29th, themed around spring.

The 'Blossom of Newness' exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and video works by emerging artists Jeong Hye-in, Chae Min-jung, and Lauren Jung. Jeong Hye-in presents sensuous works utilizing a variety of coloring tools, including oil paints and sprays. Chae Min-jung has created a series of works expressing the artist's inner world through the motif of spore-bearing plants. Influenced by surrealism and postmodernism, Lauren Jung exhibits unique works that erase the visual boundaries between reality and fantasy.

Kim Jung-yoon, the head of the Exhibition Division at KT&G's Cultural Contributions Department, stated, "We prepared this exhibition to provide emerging artists and noteworthy cultural and arts agencies with opportunities for ongoing collaboration with corporations. We plan to continue leading the discovery and nurturing of new artists through support in various cultural and arts fields, including culture, fine arts, video, drawing, and photography."

Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsangmadang is a multi-cultural arts space that supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers the public a wide range of cultural experiences. Since launching 'Sangsangmadang Hongdae' in 2007, it operates in a total of five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of the cultural and arts base and regional cultural development. Sangsangmadang receives about 3 million visitors annually, with over 3,000 cultural and arts programs operated each year.
