KT&G Scholarship Foundation and KIST Future Foundation Host Science Talent Scholarship Award Ceremony

The KT&G Scholarship Foundation, in partnership with the KIST Future Foundation, hosted a science talent scholarship award ceremony on the 11th.
The event was attended by key figures, including Ahn Hong-pil, Secretary General of the KT&G Scholarship Foundation, and Kim Yong-jik, Chairman of the KIST Future Foundation. The ceremony celebrated the selection of talents who will lead future industries in science and technology, where scholarship certificates and 100 million won scholarships were presented.
Previously, the KT&G Scholarship Foundation had agreed to donate 100 million won to the science talent cultivation scholarship program in partnership with the KIST Future Foundation. The KIST Scholarship Committee selected 33 scholarship recipients, including domestic researchers and international students, based on a comprehensive evaluation of papers and research achievements.
Since actively nurturing science talents in 2021, the KT&G Scholarship Foundation selected 58 scholars in its first year, distributing 88 million won in scholarships, followed by supporting 33 scholars with 100 million won in 2022.
The KT&G Scholarship Foundation, established in 2008 by KT&G to practice its corporate philosophy of 'Growing Together,' is a public-interest corporation. For 16 years, the foundation has continuously provided scholarships to support outstanding students so they do not abandon their studies due to socioeconomic reasons. Since its establishment, 8,679 students have benefited, with cumulative support amounting to 39.5 billion won.
A representative from the KT&G Scholarship Foundation stated, “We have been continuing the science talent cultivation scholarship program to help science and technology talents, who will be the core of future growth, to realize their greater dreams. We will continue to discover and support global talents who will lead future changes and innovations.”
