KT&G Hosts the 6th 'Sangsang Summit' Forum for Social Innovation Experts

KT&G (President Baek Bok-in) successfully hosted the 6th 'Sangsang Summit' on the 7th in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at 'KT&G Sangsang Planet', a forum dedicated to energizing the social venture ecosystem.
The 'Sangsang Summit' featured speakers from various sectors including venture investment and young entrepreneurs. The event, focusing on nurturing social innovation entrepreneurs, drew an audience of around 150 individuals, including young people aspiring to become social innovation entrepreneurs.
This forum was established as a venue for discussing the emerging future of social innovation and the evolving trends and spirit of our times. It featured lectures and discussions on topics like 'The Future of the Social Venture Ecosystem in 10 Years' and 'The Future of Social Innovation through AI Technology'. Additionally, the event included the 'Planet Awards', which recognized and rewarded ESG excellence among the resident companies at KT&G Sangsang Planet.
Since 2018, KT&G has been organizing the 'Sangsang Summit' annually, seeking solutions to societal issues from a social innovation perspective. Starting with discussions on supporting the social innovation ecosystem in its inaugural year, the forum has since covered diverse topics like regional social innovation and the interconnection of various innovations.
Furthermore, KT&G has been operating the 'Sangsang Startup Camp' since 2017 to discover social innovation entrepreneurs, receiving recognition for its efforts in supporting young entrepreneurship and job creation. This includes the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Social Enterprise Promotion Minister's Award' in 2019, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's 'Social Economy Presidential Commendation' in 2021, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Job Creation Presidential Commendation' in 2022.
A KT&G representative said, “This Sangsang Summit was a meaningful gathering where young entrepreneurs convened to ponder the future of social innovation and share insights on the spirit of the times. KT&G we will spare no effort in providing support and continue to revitalize the social venture ecosystem and the cultivation of young entrepreneurs through various programs.”
