On the 13th, KT&G(CEO Baek Bok In) held a 'CEO Town Hall Meeting' to strengthen the communication of executives and employees, at the ‘KT&G Sangsang Planet’ located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
This meeting was held to strengthen internal sympathy on the mid-to-long term vision and growth strategy of becoming a ‘Global Top-Tier’ and to listen to the various voices of members.
The town hall meeting was attended by ‘Sangsang Junior Board’, a next-generation leader council comprised of employees in their 20s and 30s, and executives, and they had a time of informal communication by freely exchanging opinions with CEO Baek Bok In on various topics selected by members, such as ‘future vision’, ‘organizational culture’, and ‘management strategy’.
In particular, based on the understanding of various areas of business to become ‘Global Top-Tier’, CEO Baek Bok In emphasized the need for ‘consilient talent’ who combine various knowledge and skills to achieve results, and the importance of spreading a culture of diversity and inclusion (D&I) to foster them.
At the event, an awards ceremony was also held for ‘Real Leaders’, excellent managers in each field selected by members. CEO Baek Bok In personally encouraged the three award-winning managers and asked them to become leadership role models.
Baek Bok In, CEO of KT&G, said, “I think the most important value in the workplace is for employees to work happily and grow together with the company”, and added, “when healthy communication like town hall meetings continues, true change will occur and both the company and its members will be able to grow.”
Meanwhile, to build a horizontal organizational culture, KT&G is operating various internal communication programs such as, 'Sangsang Junior Board', a consultative body for improving corporate culture, 'ER (Employee Relations) Day', a communication content for visiting institutions, 'Vision Moa Challenge' to internalize future vision, and 'Global Resident (Zoom-in', a card news to improve member understanding of the global market and business, etc.
