KT&G’s Smoke-Free Product ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ Being Commercialized in 4 Countries in Eura 2021.06.15
KT&G’s heat-not-burn product ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ and its dedicated heated tobacco stick ‘Fiit’ are commercialized in 4 countries of the Eurasian region in the second quarter under collaboration between KT&G and Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI).

The ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ device and ‘Fiit’ sticks were launched in Armenia on June 14th. The products were also commercialized in Serbia and Kyrgyzstan on June 3rd and 7th respectively, expanding their presence into Southeastern Europe and Central Asia. ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ and ‘Fiit’ were previously introduced in Kazakhstan on May 13th.

‘lil SOLID 2.0’ is a second generation model of KT&G’s heat-not-burn product with enhanced performance and design to improve consumer satisfaction. The product was first launched nationally in Korea in January this year to gain huge traction with its upgraded battery efficiency and induction heating technology.

The ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ device is available in two colors, Stone Grey and Cosmic Blue, in the newly launched markets. The dedicated sticks come in a total of 7 types including ‘Fiit REGULAR’, ‘Fiit VIOLA’ and ‘Fiit CRISP’, and 3 or 4 types are sold in each country depending on the market situation.

KT&G and PMI executed a supply agreement for the commercialization of ‘lil’ heat-not-burn products outside Korea, and launched ‘lil SOLID 1.0’ in Russia and Ukraine and ‘lil HYBRID 2.0’ in Japan. With the commercialization of ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ in 4 new markets in the second quarter of this year on top of the 3 markets previously launched, ‘lil’ now has presence in a total of 7 countries overseas.

Wang Seop Lim, Chief of NGP Business Division at KT&G stated “As ‘lil SOLID 1.0’ and ‘lil HYBRID 2.0’ have been well received in their respective markets, we look forward for encouraging performance from ‘lil SOLID 2.0’ as well. We will continue to provide broader choices to consumers outside Korea in the second half of this year through collaboration with PMI.”
