KT&G (CEO Baek Bok-in) will carry out '2019 KT & G Sangsang Fund Love Sharing' volunteer service to support low-income families nationwide with winter goods by the end of the year, totaling 550 million won.

KT&G has been delivering winter products such as kimchi, briquettes and bedding every year for 16 years since 2004 to low-income families who are vulnerable to the winter cold. As of this year, KT & G has provided over 8 billion won of winter goods to low-income families.

Starting from the Shintanjin plant on Nov. 6, this year's voluntary activities will be carried out in relays around the country. On Nov. 15, the KT & G Cheonan Plant held the Kimjang Sharing Service with 300 KT & G employees, Cheonan City Hall officials, and social welfare organizations, facilities and volunteers including the Cheonan Volunteer Center.

In addition, KT&G's factories located in Yeongju and Gimcheon of Gyeongbuk Province and nine headquarters in sales, raw materials, and R&D will also deliver winter supplies essential for the winter season for low-income families in Seoul, Jeju, Gyeongnam, and Gangwon.

This winter goods support fund fully utilized the “Sangsang Fund,” KT&G's unique social contribution fund. The 'Sangsang Fund' is created by the company adding the same amount to the amount voluntarily donated by employees.

Kim Gyung-dong, head of KT&G's Social Contribution Division, said, “The extreme cold is expected this year, making it difficult for the low-income families to endure the winter.” “KT&G will fulfill the responsibility of the company that coexists with its neighbors by providing customized winter goods for the neighbors around us to have a warm winter.”
