KT&G Donates Winter Supplies equivalent to KRW 650 million for the Unprivileged
- ‘2015 KT&G Sangsang Fund Love-sharing’ activity with a fund raised by the KT&G staffs in December

KT&G (CEO: Bok-in Baek) will conduct “2015 KT&G Sangsang Fund Love-Sharing” service activities until the end of December and deliver winter supplies worth a total of KRW 650 million to the unprivileged households in Korea.

KT&G staffs and local community will relay winter supplies including insulation tents and briquettes to low-income households in 21 places nation-wide where KT&G local headquarters and plants are located. KT&G has provided winter supplies for the unprivileged since 2004.

The insulation tent, in particular, installed indoors, are popular because the tent keeps temperature without extra costs or maintenance. KT&G provided 500 tents last year and prepared another 1,000 tents for this year. Staffs of KT&G will install the tents for the beneficiaries.

All required costs of winter supplies are covered by the Sangsang Fund raised by voluntary donations of KT&G staffs and matching-fund scheme donation by KT&G.

Hyoseok Ji, head of CSR division, said, “Our staffs seem to feel all the more rewarded, and their sharing becomes all the more meaningful, through the process of delivering the winter supplies prepared by their voluntary donations with beads of sweat on their foreheads,” adding that “we hope these winter goods will help the needy neighbors around us get through this winter more warmly and comfortably.”
