KT&G(CEO: Mr. Min Young-jin) will donate 500 heating tents to energy-poor people for their warm winter.
 
This donation will be done by delivering one heating tent for one low-income household per staff of the headquarters of KT&G until January, 2015. The staffs will visit the beneficiaries’ home and install the heating tent.
 
Heating tent is an indoor tent to be installed in living room or bed room in order to maintain heating temperature in winter. After installing it, indoor temperature increases more than 4C, with excellent warmth-keeping effect and saving heating budget.
 
For purchasing heating tent, the entire amount is paid from the ‘Sangsang Fund’ made voluntarily by KT&G managing staffs. The ‘Sangsang Fund’ is KT&G’s own social contribution fund by donation of the staffs from some portion of their monthly salaries and the identical amount provided by the company. Its annual amount is 3.5 billion won and the managing staffs participated in the fund donation. 
 
KT&G’s head of the Social Contribution Department, Mr. Ji Hyo-seok said “KT&G thought heating tent not requiring additional heating cost would be necessary for the energy-poor people in long-term perspective and decided to donate it. It is small but we hope that it will helpful to make our neighbors spend warm winter.”
