658 KT&G will hold 'Korea Design Challenge 2014' 2014.07.22

 

 

KT&G will hold the “Korea Design Challenge 2014’ to materialize design ideas to products and to help their distribution in foreign markets.
 
The 2nd ‘Korea Design Challenge’ this year is a program to invigorate Korean product design industry and to spread Korean designs to world market. Especially, this year, it will be done by collaboration with the world-famous total interior brand, UMBRA in the entire process from commercialization of the idea to distribution abroad.
 
The theme is ‘Wake up the wall’ and any design to be used on the wall is available to be submitted but electric and electronic products will be excluded. For submission of application, design students or developer can participate. The submission will be done through KT&G Sangsangmadang homepage(www.sangsangmadang.com) from August 21 to August 31, 2015.
 
The screening will be made comprehensively with evaluating creativeness, commercial feasibility, and marketability. The final selected ideas will be produced and distributed in 30 countries in the world including USA, Europe, and Canada. The selected works will other various rewards including invitation from New York International Gift Fair in August 2015 and exhibitions in the domestic and overseas design fairs, as well.
 
KT&G proceeded the first ‘Korea Design Challenge’ with Kikkerland, a world-famous design distributer last year. The selected ideas were commercialized and now it is sold in 26 countries around the world. Through it, it is known to extend Korean designers’ chance to go out to world market considerably.
