657 KT&&, 10 Years’ ‘Hope-Boosting Correspondent in Cambodia’ Dispatching Undergraduate S 2014.07.15

 

In this year, KT&G(CEO: Mr. Young-jin Min)’s ‘Volunteer Activities in Cambodia’ celebrates its 10th year.
 
KT &G will dispatch a volunteer group made of undergraduate students to Cambodia until upcoming July 26th, for two weeks. This volunteer group consists of total 40 undergraduate students who were selected from ‘Sangang Volunteers’, an undergraduate volunteer group sponsored by KT&G and student volunteer members of KT&G welfare foundation. 
 
Volunteers will visit elementary school in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia in order to build educational facilities such as library and renovate outer wall of the school and provide various talent donation activities for local children, using their own specialties.
 
KT&G’s volunteer activities in Cambodia started in 2005 and total 700 volunteers have been dispatched with 29 trips. KT&G also has provided supports such as establishment of the first kindergarten aboard in Cambodia and donation of libraries with total 250 million won.
 
A person concerned in KT&G said “In this year, the support project started in order to seed hope in Cambodia which underwent hard times because of civil wars for longtime, is in its 10th year and we are filled with new emotions. We will enhance collaboration with local NGOs and carry out the project in deeper level.”
