KT&G(CEO, Baek Bok In) recently donated KRW 500 million for the people who suffered massive damage caused by huge-sized wildfires in Goseong, Sokcho and Donghae areas in Gangwon province.

KT&G donates funds to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, which is the official fundraiser for the forest fire damage. The funds will be used for emergency residential facilities and emergency repair, cost of living and relief supplies for the refugees.

This donation was made at the 'Imagination Fund', a donation fund that KT&G employees voluntarily participated in. The Imagination Fund is KT&G's unique social contribution fund, in which the company adds the same amount to the donations that employees collect from their salaries each month.

Kim Kyeong-dong, head of the KT&G Social Contribution Division, said, "We received reports that many people suffered a lot of damage due to forest fires in Gangwon-do, so we decided to help them through the quick decision-making process. In addition to the donation, we will not hesitate to send our staff volunteers to help them."

In May 2017, KT&G also provided 350 million won to the areas affected by big wild fires in Gangneung, Samcheok in Gangwon Province and Sangju in Gyeongbuk Province. In September of 2016, it provided KRW 500 million in support for restoration of cultural properties in Gyungju, which suffered an earthquake.
