320 KT&G is recruiting applicants for '2019 My First Concert' to help new musicians grow 2019.01.15

KT&G(CEO, Baek Bok In) will recruit applicants for the first half of '2019 My First Concert' until 28th this month to help new musicians grow.

‘'My first concert' is a program that selects talented new musicians and supports the opening of their first concert.

Those qualified are musicians who have never held a solo concert at a performance hall with more than 100 seats or plan to perform a solo concert commemorating their 1st album release. They can apply through Sangsangmadang homepage (www.sangsangmadang.com) by 28th this month, and can choose the desired dates for the performance from April to July.

Applicants will be judged by experts to assess their eligibility, live skills and genre diversity. In particular, this year, we plan to expand the number of candidates from 6 teams to 8 teams.

For selected musicians, we will provide support for the venue rental fee of KT & G Sangsangmadang Hongdae Live Hall and provide publicity and marketing benefits for performances. In addition, we support profile photographs and performance live video shoots that can be used even after the performance.

My first concert, which celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, has supported a total of 26 teams and has established itself as a 'gateway to growth' for new musicians. Various genres of musicians, including rock band Life & Time, pianist Lee Hahn Eol, and hip-hop brass band NP Union, held their first solo concerts through this program.

"The program is designed to support indie musicians who have limitations in recognition and financial resources even though they have sufficient competency," said Ji Hyo Seok, director of cultural affairs at KT&G. "We expect a lot of talented musicians to participate." he added.
