KT&G (President Baek Bok-in) has regained the 'Family-Friendly Company' certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, in recognition of its efforts to support work-life balance for its employees.
The 'Family-Friendly Company' certification, granted by the Ministry, acknowledges organizations that exemplify best practices in fostering a family-friendly culture and policies. KT&G first earned this accolade in 2015 and was named a 'Family-Friendly Excellent Company' in 2018, receiving a commendation from the Prime Minister.
Among KT&G's notable family-friendly initiatives is the 'Gahwa Mansa Seong' program, which embodies the belief that a harmonious home leads to success in the company. This program includes a variety of events such as congratulatory gifts for employees' children entering school, pregnancy and birth celebrations, and high school entrance exam briefings, all of which have received high satisfaction from employees.
Additionally, since 2015, KT&G has introduced and expanded the 'Automatic Childcare Leave System' after maternity leave, extending leave up to two years, to support employees in child-rearing. Alongside this, the company provides institutional support for fertility and childcare, aiding employees in establishing stable families in an era of low birth rates.
Moreover, KT&G offers several policies to ensure work-life balance, such as the 'PC Shutdown System' for timely departures, a 'Refresh Vacation' of three weeks every five years, and on-site childcare facilities.
A KT&G spokesperson stated, "Based on our philosophy that a company with happy employees performs well, we have proactively introduced various systems to balance work and life. We plan to continue supporting our employees to achieve their best through diverse institutional support and communication."
