KT&G (President Baek Bok-In) recruits its 12th group of “SangSang Friends”, a staff of university students to operate SangSang Univ, from colleges in 13 regions across the country.

Any university student (including those on a leave of absence) can apply for this position on the SangSang Univ website (www.sangsanguniv.com). Applications will be accepted until January 24, 2021, and the final candidates who pass both the document screening and the interviews will work as the company’s 12th “SangSang Friends between March and June 2021. The selection of SangSang Friends and their activities will proceed simultaneously in 13 regions nationwide.

A total of 195 university students selected as 12th “SangSang Friends” will be assigned to 13 regional head offices and be responsible for planning and implementing programs related to arts, culture and volunteering that represent each of the 13 regions for a four-month period. These students will be provided with a monthly allowance of 200,000 won for their activities, in addition to content production expenses.

KT&G SangSang Univ is a community of university students that KT&G has operated since 2010 to provide young people with various experiences to explore culture, arts, volunteer work, and career paths. Until last year, on-site programs such as classes, festivals, and volunteer activities were operated. This year, contactless programs have been enhanced by reflecting social changes in the wake of COVID-19 outbreaks. These programs include the online class “Stay Home Class”, the online contest “Jiphyeonjeon”, and the online mentoring service “Career Dining.”

 

A company official at KT&G said, “SangSang Univ is KT&G’s unique platform for social contribution, which provides what university students need most under the slogan ‘A place that creates social value with youthful imagination’.” They added, “We will put forth our best efforts to assist university students in growing into healthy members of society through more experience and exchanges.”
