KT&G (President Baek Bok-in) held the 'THE DEBUT', announcing the achievements of the fourth phase of the Sangsang Startup Camp.

The Sangsang Startup Camp is a KT&G's youth entrepreneurship support program that selects preliminary entrepreneurs who want to solve social problems through business and runs a 14-week actual start-up process. The debut is a place where participants share their achievements and support their first start as an entrepreneur. KT&G selected 40 preliminary entrepreneurs last October to support the entire process of launching social innovation startups.

This event, which was held at Baesan Korea, a multicultural space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, on December 12, announced the business models and achievements prepared by 10 teams. On this occasion, KT&G selected five excellent teams through a screening and delivered a total of 80 million won. The company plans to continue providing office space for startups and overseas exploration funds.

KT&G started sponsoring the “Asia University Student Entrepreneurship Exchange Exhibition” in 2004 and has continued to support youth entrepreneurship by expanding its scope to create jobs for future generations using the “Sangsang Fund”. Since 2017, the company has been actively promoting social innovation entrepreneurs with a focus on 'Sangsang Startup Camp', and this year, it plans to contribute to revitalization of the entrepreneurship ecosystem based on the 'Young Entrepreneurship Support Center' opened in the 'Seongsu Social Venture Valley'.

An official from KT&G said, “We are supporting more preliminary entrepreneurs through the Young Entrepreneurship Support Center, which opens next year after the Sangsang Startup Camp. "We will continue to provide various supports to solve youth unemployment problems and create jobs."
