KT&G(CEO: Mr. Min Young-jin) will conduct volunteer activities to introduce Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty with 120 college student members of “KT&G Sangsang Volunteer” in Gwanghwamun Plaza for two days on 27th and 28th, respectively.
KT&G employees and Sangsang Volunteer college students will guide tourists and explain about the Royal Tombs in Gwanghwamun Plaza where fifth anniversary event celebrating registration of Royal Tomb to UNESCO World Heritage. They had education about Korean cultural heritages including Royal Tombs for two days sponsored by Cultural Heritage Administration before their volunteer activities.
The ‘KT&G Sangsang Volunteer’ is a volunteering group which college students find and plan topics of volunteering and conduct activities. Since 2010, it has planned and conducted various activities such as invigorating traditional market, drawing murals, and one day Santa, and sharing books. This volunteer activity also started from one college volunteer member’s idea.
Kim Dong-kyu(25,Soongsil University) who participates in the event “in the process of education before the activities, we were familiar with Royal Tombs as well as our history and cultural heritage. I will guide sincerely tourists who visit accidently to have interests in Royal Tombs.”
KT&G has led to protect 100 local cultural heritage all over the country through ‘one cultural heritage at one point’ activity since last year. Last May, the accumulated time of volunteering exceeded 10,000 hours.
