(CEO Min Young-jin) is to hold on November 16 at Kintex in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
the “Sangsang (Imagination) Realization Festival,” which is organized by
rookies selected in the fields of music, photography, and film in conjunction
with older artists.
The “Sangsang Realization Festival,” which marks its
second anniversary this year, is a combined cultural festival that is organized
by famous artists and artists selected from “Band Discovery,” “One Day Shot,” and
“The Great Short Film Festival” programs that KT&G has operated on a continuing
basis to support rookie culture artists.
This festival comprises the sections of music,
photography, and film. For the music section, the bands Thornapple, April
Second, and Roundheads selected in “Band Discovery” as the top three bands will
perform on stage with Daybreak, Broccoli You Too, 10cm, Geeks, and others, which
are extremely popular with young people.
In the photography section, works by amateur
photographers Lee Mi-suk and Chun Jae-ho, who are prizewinners in “One Day Shot”
are introduced, and in the film section, films directed by Kim Seok-won, Choi
Gyeong-jun, and Gwak Min-seung, who are award winners in the “Great Short Film
Festival” will be presented. In addition, in the photography and film sections,
hours of meetings with audiences are scheduled through talks in which
specialists by field participate.
A KT&G official said, “The distinctive feature of the ‘Sangsang (Imagination) Realization
Festival’ is that it provides various opportunities for amateur artists to grow
and a forum for them to meet the public, rather than a one-shot event,” adding that “all the proceeds from this
festival will go to culture and art organizations so that cultural development
may follow a virtuous cycle.”
Festival tickets are available to
buy through Interpark, Ticket Link, etc., and a shuttle service to the
performance venue is planned to be operated for audience convenience. For
