KT&G SangSang Madang Chuncheon successfully held this year’s
SangSang Festival in Chuncheon over two days from Apr. 19 to 20, 2025.
Organized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of KT&G SangSang Madang, the
festival drew an overwhelmingly favorable response from visitors with an
expanded lineup of programs and a robust roster of artists.
Under the slogan “We Have the Same Dream,” the festival featured
performances from over 30 teams, including leading Korean musicians such as
Chang Kiha, Car, the Garden, and Silica Gel, alongside emerging talents
discovered through the SangSang Madang Artist Support Program. The festival
welcomed around 16,000 during its two-day schedule. With the waterside of
Chuncheon’s Uiam Lake set as the background, the diverse music and cultural
arts programs offered city dwellers a refreshing escape from their urban hassles
and a spark of inspiration.
The event also took part in mutual growth with local communities
through discounted tickets for Gangwon-do residents and a flea market held
during the festival period.
KT&G Director for ESG Management Shim Yeong-ah stated, “This
festival, held to mark the 20th anniversary of KT&G SangSang Madang,
created a space for mutual growth between culture, arts, and the local
community. KT&G is committed to supporting artists and dedicating to the
progress of local culture through the company’s unique cultural contribution
platform.”
KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and
artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while
offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since opening its first
venue in Hongdae in 2007, the platform has expanded to five locations,
including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the development
of local arts and culture as well as the broadening of artistic and cultural
engagement. KT&G SangSang Madang attracts around 3.1 million visitors annually
and hosts over 3,000 artistic and cultural programs every year.
