KT&G SangSang Madang’s Open Call for Applicants: “2025 My First Concert” Program to Support Indie Musicians 2025.03.31

KT&G (President Bang Kyung-man) is now accepting applications for this year’s My First Concert program, an initiative aimed at discovering and supporting indie musicians, until May 2, 2025.

First launched in 2015 and celebrating its 10th anniversary, My First Concert is a program that selects potential indie musicians through KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae and support them in holding solo concerts.

The recruitment targets indie musicians who have no experience in solo concerts. Detailed information and application methods can be found on the KT&G SangSang Madang website (www.sangsangmadang.com) and the official Instagram (@ssmadang.official).

Four teams will be selected through document and video screening. Each team will receive prize money worth ₩2 million and ₩1 million for profile photo shooting expenses. Additionally, the selected teams will be provided free use of KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae Live Hall to hold their solo concerts.

Through this program, a total of 47 teams have hosted performances so far. Representative bands include Silica Gel, winners of the 20th and 21st Korean Popular Music Awards, and jisokuryClub, winner of the EBS Hello Rookie Contest.

KT&G Performance Manager Kim Cheon-beom stated, “KT&G SangSang Madang’s My First Concert program recorded a competition rate of 75 to 1 last year, drawing significant attention in the indie scene, and we expect as many participants in this recruitment as well.” He added, “We will continue to focus on discovering potential bands and providing real stage experience to support the growth of new musicians.”

KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since opening its first venue in Hongdae in 2007, the platform has expanded to five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the development of local arts and culture as well as the broadening of artistic and cultural engagement. KT&G SangSang Madang attracts around 3.1 million visitors annually and hosts over 3,000 artistic and cultural programs every year.
