KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan has announced the final
winners of the "2025 Sangsang Live Studio," a program aimed at
discovering emerging musicians.
A
total of 82 teams applied for the program, which began accepting applications
in December last year. This year’s competition recorded its highest-ever
applicant-to-winner ratio, exceeding 14:1. Following a document screening, live
audition, and final performance at KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan Live Hall,
three teams—"Confined White," "Polyamory," and "Heaven
is There"—were selected as the first, second, and third-place winners,
respectively.
The three winning teams will
receive cash prizes and the opportunity to perform at Sangsangmadang Hongdae.
Additionally, Confined White will take the stage at the 2025 Busan
International Rock Festival.
"Sangsang Live Studio," launched in 2020,
is one of KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan’s representative cultural programs. To
date, it has supported a total of 61 teams, discovering talented musicians such
as Bandgirin and Mosshill, while providing them with valuable performance
opportunities.
“The Sangsang Live Studio program serves as a
platform for emerging musicians to step onto bigger stages,” said Kim
Cheon-beom, KT&G Performance Manager. “As a cultural bridge between artists
and audiences, we will continue working to promote diverse music genres and
revitalize the live performance scene.”
KT&G Sangsangmadang serves as a multifaceted
cultural and artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging
artists while offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since
opening its first venue, Sangsangmadang Hongdae, in 2007, it has expanded to
five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to
the expansion of cultural arts and regional development. KT&G
Sangsangmadang attracts around 3 million visitors annually and hosts over 3,000
cultural and artistic programs every year.
