KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae collaborates with Ahmugae-C to run
a retro stationery concept pop-up store titled “Playing is the Best!” at
KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae Design Square until April 27.
Ahmugae-C is a stationery brand that reinterprets Korean quaintness
with a touch of intentional old-fashioned yet unique sensibility, having
produced many collaboration products with various companies.
Visitors can find retro stationery products encapsulating the
brand’s characteristics of Ahmugae-C at this pop-up store as well as experience
traditional Korean games such as gonggi nori (a game throwing and
catching small items with one’s hand) and ddakji chigi (folded paper
flipping game).
An official from KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae said, “We hope
visitors create many memories by experiencing traditional games and retro-style
products through this pop-up store,” adding, “SangSang Madang will continue to
operate diverse programs to provide new cultural experiences to visitors.”
KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and
artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while
offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since opening its first
venue, SangSang Madang Hongdae, in 2007, it has expanded to five locations,
including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion
of cultural arts and regional development. It attracts around 3.1 million
visitors annually and hosts more than 3,000 cultural and artistic programs
every year.
