KT&G is taking
applications for the 9th cohort of its youth startup support
program, SangSang Startup Camp,
from March 24 to April 14.
This recruitment is targeted
at early-stage startups founded by young entrepreneurs within the past three
years. KT&G plans to discover and nurture 20 promising youth startup teams,
providing them with expert mentoring and capacity-building training for
approximately five months to help them develop systematic growth strategies.
Interested applicants can apply through the KT&G SangSang
Planet website (http://www.sangsangplanet.com). Through this program, KT&G
aims to contribute to the creation of social value by early-stage startups and
the expansion of youth employment opportunities.
KT&G will fully cover all training costs and offer additional
support to outstanding teams, including cash prizes, tenancy in KT&G
SangSang Planet—a youth startup space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul—and assistance in
securing investment to enhance their viability.
Jang Ho-yeon, Head of KT&G’s Social Contribution Division,
said, “KT&G has been running an unparalleled startup program to support
young entrepreneurs pursuing social innovation through their businesses. We
plan to continue supporting their growth and development through various
initiatives.”
Since its
launch in 2017, SangSang Startup Camp has completed eight cohorts, producing a
total of 162 startup teams. The program has recorded cumulative sales of
KRW 28.83 billion and cumulative investment attraction of
KRW 12.36 billion. In recognition of these
achievements, KT&G received the Presidential Commendation for Job Creation
in 2022 and the Presidential Commendation for Social Economy Merit in 2021.
