KT&G
Sangsangmadang is now accepting applications for the KT&G Daechi Artist
Fellowship (DAF) to support emerging artists in their exhibition activities.
KT&G
DAF is an annual support program for emerging artists that has been running
since 2022. The program is open to works across various genres, including
painting, photography, and installation. Priority will be given to works that
explore themes relatable to everyday life.
Applicants
must be individuals or teams who have participated in at least one group
exhibition. The selection process will evaluate the level of completion,
suitability for the exhibition space, popularity, and potential for growth. One
individual or team will be chosen.
The selected artist(s) will have the opportunity to
exhibit their work at KT&G Daechi Gallery from May 7 to July 10. They will
receive exhibition space, promotional materials, and support for transportation
and installation of their work.
“KT&G
DAF is a program designed to provide practical support for emerging artists,
helping them connect with a wider audience and sustain their creative work,”
said a KT&G Sangsangmadang official. “We will continue to support the
growth of the Korean art industry through various cultural initiatives.”
KT&G
Sangsangmadang serves as a multifaceted cultural and artistic space, supporting
the creative activities of emerging artists while offering diverse cultural
experiences to the public. Since the launch of its first location in Hongdae in
2007, the platform has expanded to five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon,
Daechi, and Busan. KT&G Sangsangmadang attracts around 3.1 million visitors
annually and hosts more than 3,000 cultural and artistic programs every year,
contributing to the development of regional culture and the broadening of
cultural and artistic engagement.
