KT&G SangSang Madang Nonsan is hosting artist Park
Dong-wook's solo exhibition until March 30.
The exhibition was designed to invigorate the local arts and
culture scene while supporting local artists’ creative endeavors and providing
them opportunities to showcase their works.
The display at
KT&G SangSang Madang Nonsan’s Arting Lounge features nine abstract
paintings, including Point42(red) by Park Dong-wook. The artist is a
local talent and a visiting professor in the Department of Art Education at
Gongju University. He is known for his distinctive glass and ceramic creations,
incorporating stone-like sculptures directly crafted from soil sourced in the
Gongju area.
An official from
KT&G stated, “This exhibition was organized to encourage local artists’
creative endeavors and offer residents enriching cultural experiences. We will
do our best to keep supporting the growth of local culture and the arts.”
KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since the launch of its first location in Hongdae in 2007, the platform has expanded to five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon,
Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the development of regional culture and the
broadening of cultural and artistic engagement. KT&G SangSang Madang
attracts around 3 million visitors annually and hosts over 3,000 cultural and
artistic programs every year.
