KT&G (CEO Kyung-man Bang) is publicly recruiting participants for the “2025 Sangsang Live Practice Room,” a program designed to discover and support emerging musicians, through January 9.
The “Sangsang Live Practice Room” is a cultural and artistic program operated by “KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan” since 2020. It has discovered a total of 61 artist teams so far, offering them various benefits that aspiring musicians need, such as performance opportunities, profile photo shoots, and live clip video production.
This open call is available to any musician who has at least three original songs, and applications can be submitted via the KT&G Sangsang Madang website (https://www.sangsangmadang.com).
After a document screening and a live performance assessment, six teams will be chosen to perform on March 23 at the KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan Live Hall, where the final rankings will be determined through audience votes and evaluations by professional judges. The top three teams will receive various benefits, including performance opportunities at “Sangsang Madang Hongdae” and “Sangsang Madang Busan,” profile photo shoots, live clip videos, and activity support funds. The winning team will also have the chance to perform at the Busan International Rock Festival.
Kim Cheon-beom, Head of the Performance Division at KT&G Sangsang Madang, stated, “Sangsang Madang has been identifying promising up-and-coming artists and supporting their development through various initiatives,” and added, “Going forward, we will continue to act as a cultural bridge between audiences and artists, fostering the popularization of music across diverse genres and revitalizing the performance culture.”
Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers extensive cultural experiences to the public. Since its inception at Sangsang Madang Hongdae in 2007, it has expanded to five locations including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of the cultural base and regional cultural development. Sangsang Madang attracts approximately 3 million visitors annually, hosting over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs each year.
