KT&G provides “Health Tea Sets” to help the underprivileged elderly stay warm during the winter. 2024.12.12
KT&G (CEO Kyung-man Bang) carried out the “Sangsang Share ON-Jeong Health Tea Set Donation Volunteer Activity” on the 10th to help the underprivileged endure the winter. The volunteer activity took place on the first-floor Connect Hall of KT&G Sangsang Planet in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, with the participation of about 40 individuals, including KT&G employees and young entrepreneurs residing in Sangsang Planet.

On that day, volunteers prepared homemade citrus syrup and packaged the donation items. The health tea sets, which include tangerine syrup, were prepared to help prevent a surge in colds and pneumonia during the winter. A total of 300 completed sets were delivered to elderly households in need in Seongdong-gu.

Every year, KT&G conducts the “KT&G Sangsang Share ON-Jeong” program, a social contribution initiative aimed at supporting the underprivileged and spreading a culture of sharing at the year’s end. This year as well, the head office, sales offices, and manufacturing plants are actively participating nationwide, carrying out various support activities totaling about 2 billion KRW, including kimchi sharing, providing winter supplies and living expenses, and improving facilities and housing.

Hoyeon Jang, Head of Social Contribution at KT&G, stated, “We hope that the tea, prepared with care while considering the health of the vulnerable elderly, will help them spend the cold winter a bit more warmly,” and added, “KT&G will continue to make sustained efforts for co-prosperity with local communities.”

Furthermore, the 'KT&G Sangsang Share On-Jeong' activities are funded by the 'Sangsang Fund', which is composed of voluntary donations from KT&G employees. Launched in 2011, the 'Sangsang Fund' is a corporate social responsibility fund created in a matching grant format, where the company matches the amount donated by employees from their monthly salaries, used for supporting the underprivileged both domestically and internationally and addressing urgent social issues.
