KT&G Sangsang Madang, Discovering Emerging Artists: 5th Artistart Contest
2024.10.17
KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) announced that Sangsang Madang will be accepting public applications for its emerging artist support program, Artistart, from October 21 to November 17.
Now in its 5th year, Artistart is a flagship artist support program at KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan, aimed at discovering emerging local artists with potential and talent. The program name is a blend of "art," "artist," and "start," symbolizing the support for local art university graduates taking their first steps as artists.
This program is open to graduating students from fine arts departments at universities in the Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla regions. Applicants can submit their applications via email to the KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan Gallery manager (ps4004@interpark.com). Selected participants will receive support, including exhibitions at KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan and touring exhibitions, art critiques, and networking opportunities with other artists.
A KT&G Sangsang Madang representative said, "We hope the Artistart program will serve as an opportunity for aspiring artists to fully realize their potential. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen practical support for emerging artists through various programs and contribute to the sustainable development of the cultural and artistic sectors."
KT&G Sangsang Madang is a multi-cultural and artistic space that supports the creative activities of emerging artists while offering the public a wide range of cultural experiences. Since its launch at Sangsang Madang Hongdae in 2007, it has expanded to five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of the cultural arts scene and the development of local culture. Sangsang Madang welcomes approximately 3 million visitors annually and hosts more than 3,000 cultural and artistic programs each year.
