KT&G Sangsang Madang is set to hold the ‘2024 Sangsang Realization Festival Busan with Sangsang Univ.' to support the growth of university students aspiring to become artists and to revitalize local culture.

The festival will take place over two days, from October 25 to 26, at KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan, and admission is free.

This event, in collaboration with KT&G’s university student growth support platform, Sangsang Univ., will operate under the theme of "UniverCITY," meaning a festival aimed at the promotion of culture and arts in the Busan area created by university students.

The festival will feature a variety of programs, including performances, dance, sculpture exhibitions, media art, and a flea market, fully utilizing the infrastructure of KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan. All programs will be created with the active participation of university students.

Additionally, on the 25th, the globally recognized performance dance team Animation Crew will perform during the dance show. On the 26th, the band stage will feature Korea’s first-generation band Crying Nut, along with Busan’s representative indie bands Mosshill, Hugo, Burning Soda, and Synergarette, all performing alongside university student performance teams to enhance the festival’s atmosphere.

Details regarding the festival can be found on the KT&G Sangsang Madang website (www.sangsangmadang.com).

Shim Young-Ah, head of KT&G’s ESG Management Office, said, “The '2024 Sangsang Realization Festival Busan with Sangsang Univ.' will be a meaningful festival that encourages young artists’ challenges toward their dreams and further enriches the culture of the Busan area. Moving forward, KT&G Sangsang Madang will continue to contribute to the local economy and culture as a cultural hub that thrives together with the community.”

Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang is a multi-cultural and artistic complex that supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers the public a wide range of cultural experiences. Since the opening of Sangsang Madang Hongdae in 2007, it has expanded to five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the spread of culture and arts as well as local cultural development. Sangsang Madang attracts around 3 million visitors annually and operates over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs each year.
