KT&G (CEO Min Young-jin) is recruiting amateur
photographers to participate in “One Day Shot,” a record of 24 hours in Seoul
in photos, until August 15.
Entry is open to anyone interested in photography. All
they have to do is to register the photos they have taken and motives for
participation on the website (sangsang.ktng.com). On submitting an application, an applicant can choose a
picture-taking area with a professional photographer whose mentoring he/she
wants to have.
KT&G is scheduled to screen the photos submitted by
applicants and select a total of 44 persons. They will have a workshop with
their mentors twice, and set out on a picture-taking tour, recording a day in the
life of Seoul from 0 to 24:00 hours on September 7.
The photos taken on this day are planned to be displayed
in the Hongik University Sangsang Madang, and to be published as photo
collections. In particular, two photographers selected as the best through the
final screening will be provided with an opportunity to make presentations of their
works and meet the audience in the “Sangsang (Imagination) Realization Festival”
to be held in November together with certificates to take photograph courses
offered by Sangsang Madang.
A KT&G official said, “‘One Day Shot’ is one of the
representative domestic photography programs that have been run without
interruption since 2008, when recording a day around Hongdae area (front of
Hongik Univ.) was started,” adding that “it will be a
forum for amateur photographers to realize their imaginations through a series
of programs that lead to publishing and exhibitions followed by mentoring and
picture taking.”
