KT&G (CEO Kyung-man Bang), in collaboration with Jongno District Office, successfully concluded the college student fashion incubating program '2024 Sangsang Fashion Runway' at Gwanghwamun Square on the 8th.

This year was the eighth "Sangsang Fashion Runway", a program initiated by KT&G in 2017 to provide college student designers and models with the opportunity to participate in a fashion show, and to energize the local industry through collaboration with the garment industry. It has since become the largest college student fashion incubating program in Korea, having produced approximately 500 student designers and models.

This year's event, themed 'Sound of Korea: The Four Seasons,' reinterpreted symbols of South Korea as imagined by the youth through the seasons. The final selections in June resulted in 10 design teams and 20 models participating in the runway show. Over the past three months, the participants engaged in expert incubating programs, including practical training with sewing masters and special lectures for models, enhancing the event's quality.

The event also offered various spectacles, including a celebratory performance. Notably, prominent figures in the fashion industry, such as designer Jang Kwang Hyo, served as judges, raising the event's caliber. The prestigious grand prize in the design category was awarded to the 'Wonseong' team from Cheongju University.

A KT&G Sangsang Univ representative stated, “Thanks to the participants' efforts and passion for fashion, the '2024 Sangsang Fashion Runway' was successfully concluded,” and added, “KT&G Sangsang Univ will continue to support the dreams and challenges of the youth and the co-prosperity of the community through various programs.”

Since its inception in 2010, 'Sangsang Univ' has been a platform supporting the growth of university students, with over one million participants to date. Through various programs such as 'KT&G Sangsang Friends,' 'KT&G Sangsang Marketing School,' and 'KT&G Sangsang Blue Pavilion,' it has been instrumental in supporting cultural activities and growth among regional youth.
