KT&G Sangsang Madang successfully concluded the "Great Short Film Festival in Busan," which was held to provide Busan area audiences with the opportunity to watch short films.

The "Great Short Film Festival" is a cultural contribution program that KT&G Sangsang Madang has been conducting since 2007 to discover and support outstanding short films in Korea, and this is the first time it was held in the region.

During the "Great Short Film Festival in Busan," which took place over two days starting on the 4th, a total of 6 award-winning films were specially screened, including Director Lee Kyung-ho’s "Alone," which won the KT&G Gold Prize and the Great Actor Award at the "16th Great Short Film Festival," and Director Seo Saerom’s "Swimming," which won the Silver Prize. 

Additionally, various events were held for the audience to enjoy, including giveaways of postcards of the award-winning short films and film festival merchandise. The event was conducted with free admission for all seats to provide the Busan audience with the opportunity to watch short films. 

Kim Kang-min, Head of Cultural Contributions at KT&G, stated, “This film festival was more than just a screening event; it was a time to contribute to regional cultural development and provide filmmakers with opportunities to realize their dreams,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to allow local citizens to experience a variety of cultural and arts programs.”

Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers extensive cultural experiences to the public. Since its inception at Sangsang Madang Hongdae in 2007, it has expanded to five locations including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of the cultural base and regional cultural development. Sangsang Madang attracts approximately 3 million visitors annually and hosts around 3,000 cultural and artistic programs each year.
