2024.07.25
On the 24th, KT&G (President Kyung-man Bang) hosted the IR Pitching Day for teams participating in the 'Global Track' of the 8th 'Sangsang Startup Camp,' a youth entrepreneurship support program, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The IR Pitching Day was an event where five startups (GreenContinue, Robigos, DiveInGroup, Yoonhoi, SlunchFactory), selected for the 'Global Track' of the 8th 'KT&G Sangsang Startup Camp' in January, and having received startup education over approximately six months, introduced their business models directly to local investors and social venture stakeholders in Indonesia.
Following the startups' presentations, the event featured a 'meet-up' program where participants could freely interact with venture capitalists and social venture professionals.
Shim Young-ah, Director of KT&G ESG Management, stated, "We hope that young social innovators will realize their dreams in the international market based on their experiences at Sangsang Startup Camp," and emphasized, "KT&G will continue to support and partner with young entrepreneurs as they make their societal debut."
Furthermore, the 'KT&G Sangsang Startup Camp' is a youth entrepreneurship program aimed at solving social issues through business. It provides practical support to young entrepreneurs to flourish as social innovation entrepreneurs through expert mentoring and hands-on education. Since its inception in 2017, the program has successfully run seven batches until last year, producing a total of 144 startup teams, generating over 42 billion won in cumulative sales, and creating jobs for more than 830 individuals. 36 teams have progressed into the government's 'Social Enterprise Promotion Project.' For these contributions, KT&G received the Presidential Commendation for Job Creation in 2022 and the Presidential Commendation for Contributors to the Social Economy in 2021.
