2024.06.10
In conjunction with 'World Environment Day' observed on June 5th each year, KT&G Sangsang Madang is holding an exhibition titled 'A Better Future Planet' focusing on environmental protection.
The exhibition is taking place at the Sangsang Madang Daechi Gallery, located on the first floor of KT&G's Seoul headquarters, and will continue until June 27th.
This event aims to highlight the severity of ecosystem destruction caused by global warming, raise public awareness about environmental protection, and encourage practical action.
Participating artists Kim Do-hoon and Kim Young-hun present ten pieces of sculptures and paintings that depict the ecological crises caused by climate change and the plight of Arctic animals losing their habitats.
Kim Jung-yoon, the head of the Exhibition Department at KT&G's Cultural Contribution Division, stated, "Every year, KT&G Sangsang Madang holds various exhibitions that convey the seriousness of environmental damage and the importance of ecosystem conservation. We hope that visitors will take this opportunity to think about what they can do for a better future for our planet."
Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers extensive cultural experiences to the public. Since its inception at Sangsang Madang Hongdae in 2007, it has expanded to five locations including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of the cultural base and regional cultural development. Sangsang Madang attracts approximately 3 million visitors annually, hosting over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs each year.
