2024.05.03
KT&G (President Bang Kyung-Man) won the Excellence Award at the '4th Ethical Management Practice Competition,' held on the 2nd at Finland Tower in Seodaemun District, Seoul.
The award ceremony, co-hosted by the Industrial Policy Studies Institute (IPS) and the Yoon-Kyung ESG Forum, recognized KT&G for its contributions to creating a fair and transparent society.
As a global company committed to realizing its vision of becoming 'Global Top-tier,' KT&G diligently practices ethical management in line with global standards.
In 2022, KT&G revised the 'KT&G Group Ethics Charter' to establish common principles and standards that must be adhered to by all members, both domestically and internationally, covering business ethics, information protection, responsible sales and marketing activities, and human rights protection.
To enhance understanding of the Ethics Charter and spread ethical awareness, educational materials were produced and distributed in nine languages for international business locations.
Moreover, KT&G has designated June 2nd as 'KT&G Corporate Ethics Day' annually, where the CEO directly communicates the ethical management message to all employees, and has incorporated 'Legal and Ethical Management' indicators into the Organizational Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure the application of ethical norms in actual management activities.
Additionally, KT&G enhances ethical consciousness through an annual 'Ethical Practice Pledge' participated by all employees and encourages compliance with ethical regulations by including a 'Special Clause for Ethical Practice' in contracts with partner companies.
A KT&G official stated, "The company recognizes that fair and transparent management is a core competitive strength and is committed to internalizing the group's ethics charter to global standards. We will continue to lead in practicing ethical management and build solid trust with various stakeholders through the expansion of ethical consciousness across the value chain."
