663 KT&G Sangsang Madang Announces Final Winning Teams for the “Sangsang Live Practice Room” to Discover New Artists 2024.04.08
KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan has announced the final winning teams for the "2024 Sangsang Live Practice Room," a program designed to discover and support emerging musicians.

The program, which began its open call for entries in February, saw a high competition rate of over 10 to 1 with a total of 31 teams applying. Following a first-round document review, a second-round live performance evaluation, and a final performance at KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan Live Hall, Bandgirin, ChinChinTango, and Hotter Than July were selected as the first, second, and third place winners, respectively.

The three winning teams will have the opportunity to participate in a concert held at Sangsang Madang Hongdae on May 4th, along with prize money. The top-winning team, Bandgirin, will also have the chance to perform on the stage of the "2024 Busan International Rock Festival."

The "Sangsang Live Practice Room" is one of the flagship cultural and arts programs of "KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan," launched in 2020. To date, it has supported a total of 55 teams of artists, including Mosshill and Mingle, working to discover talented musicians and provide them with practical growth opportunities through performance chances.

Kim Cheon-beom, Head of the Performance Department at KT&G's Culture Contribution Division, stated, "KT&G Sangsang Madang has been supporting the growth of capable new artists in various ways. We will continue to work as a cultural bridge connecting audiences and artists, striving for the popularization of diverse music genres and the activation of concert culture."

Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang is a multi-cultural art space that supports the creative activities of emerging artists and provides the public with a wide range of cultural experiences. Since launching "Sangsang Madang Hongdae" in 2007, it operates in five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of cultural arts and regional cultural development. Sangsang Madang welcomes approximately 3 million visitors annually, with over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs operated each year.
