KT&G Sangsang Madang to Host the “Imaginative Market” Community-Supporting Flea Market 2024.03.26
KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan is set to host the "Imaginative Market" flea market on the 30th, aimed at fostering community support with local small business owners.

Organized in collaboration with local government bodies in Busan, including the Busanjin District Office and the Busanjin Cultural Foundation, this event aims to promote regional symbiosis and will take place at the outdoor booths of Sangsang Madang Busan. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of items directly from about 30 sellers' booths, and the plaza in front of the booths will also host a range of performances, including busking and bubble & balloon shows. Detailed information can be found through Sangsang Madang Busan's Instagram (@sangsangmadang__busan).

Starting with this month's event, Sangsang Madang Busan plans to host the "Imaginative Market" on the last Saturday of each month until November, excluding the hot summer months of July and August. In collaboration with the Busanjin Cultural Foundation, a variety of cultural and arts performances, including traditional Korean music, musicals, magic, and dance, will also be featured. Notably, in October, a flea market linked with the annual cultural festival hosted by Sangsang Madang Busan is planned.

Jo Na-Young, head of the Design Department at KT&G's Culture Contribution Division, expressed, "We hope the 'Imaginative Market' flea market event becomes a platform for small business owners to expand their dreams. We will continue to explore ways to co-prosper with the local community and revitalize the local economy, fulfilling our corporate social responsibility."

Meanwhile, KT&G Sangsang Madang is a multi-cultural art space that supports the creative activities of emerging artists and provides the public with a wide range of cultural experiences. Since launching "Sangsang Madang Hongdae" in 2007, it operates in five locations, including Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the expansion of cultural arts and regional cultural development. Sangsang Madang welcomes approximately 3 million visitors annually, with over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs operated each year.
