638 KT&G, ‘Sangsang Junior Board’s’ Management Recommendations for Organizational Culture Innovation 2024.02.27
KT&G (CEO Baek Bok-in) held a communication platform where the next-generation leaders' group, the Sangsang Junior Board, directly provided management recommendations to the executive team.

This meeting proceeded with presentations and on-site Q&A sessions regarding the organizational cultural innovation of the Sangsang Junior Board. Particularly, ideas were actively proposed concerning the flexibility of work styles such as childbirth and childcare, work-life balance, and the dissemination of a culture of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) within the organization.

During the event, a closing ceremony for the activities of Sangsang Junior Board Batch 3 was also held. Over the past 10 months, Batch 3 of the Sangsang Junior Board has operated various differentiated programs to activate organizational culture and enhance corporate value, including activities to strengthen internal consensus on the global top-tier future vision, CEO town hall meetings, onboarding content for new hires, and selection of outstanding leaders by field.

Joo Jung-guk, the Chairperson of the Sangsang Junior Board (Batch 3), stated, "I used to think that organizational cultural innovation was a distant and difficult task, but through direct communication with the management, I realized that our voices could be realized." He added, "In the future, I will continue to take an interest in organizational culture and strive to contribute to the creation of a culture where the diverse values and ways of thinking of members are respected."

Meanwhile, in May 2021, KT&G revamped its existing organizational culture improvement mechanism, the Sangsang Realization Committee, and launched the first term of the Sangsang Junior Board among the 2030 members. The Sangsang Junior Board represents the younger generation, communicates with management, and contributes to building a horizontal organizational culture. As a result of efforts to establish a globally advanced organizational culture, KT&G was selected as an excellent company for work-life balance practices by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2020 and as a leading company in job creation in Korea in 2021. Since being initially certified as a family-friendly company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2015, KT&G has continued to receive re-certification.
