As part of its family-friendly program ‘GaHwaManSaSeong,’ KT&G has annually conducted events to celebrate the entrance of employees’ children into elementary, middle, and high schools. This year, for children entering elementary school, the company prepared bouquets, stationery sets, and toys, while for those entering middle and high school, dining gift vouchers were presented as gifts.

‘GaHwaManSaSeong’ is a family-friendly program by KT&G, based on the belief that ‘a harmonious family leads to success in the company's endeavors.’ It has been in operation since 2017 to support employees in maintaining a balanced life between work and home. The program is structured around three themes: celebration, encouragement, and care, and it includes not only employees but also their families as beneficiaries.

In addition, since 2015, the company has introduced an ‘automatic parental leave system’ that transitions automatically from maternity leave to parental leave and has extended the leave period to a maximum of two years, making efforts to support employees’ child-rearing. Along with this, the company also provides systemic support for infertility and childcare assistance to help employees establish stable families in an era of low birth rates.

Furthermore, KT&G supports a balanced work-life through various systems such as the ‘PC Shutdown Initiative’ for leaving work on time, the ‘Refresh Leave’ that can be used for three weeks every five years, and an ‘in-house childcare center,’ among others.

KT&G has been recognized for proactively introducing and exemplarily managing family-friendly systems, being selected as an ‘Excellent Family-Friendly Company’ in 2018 and receiving a commendation from the Prime Minister. After first being certified as a ‘Family-Friendly Company’ by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2015, the company successfully renewed its certification in 2020 and 2023.
