KT&G (CEO Baek Bok-in) has participated in the world's largest duty-free exhibition, ‘2023 TFWA World,’ held in Cannes, France, from October 1 to 5 (local time).

‘TFWA World’ is the world's premier duty-free exhibition organized by the Tax-Free World Association (TFWA) to invigorate the duty-free industry. As a leading global tobacco company, KT&G participated in ‘TFWA World’ this year, continuing from last year, to consolidate its position and strengthen its influence in the duty-free market.

At the exhibition, KT&G showcased various domestic and international leading duty-free brands, including ‘ESSE,’ ‘RAISON,’ and ‘BOHEM.’ Specifically, the company emphasized its innovative technology and distinctive product portfolio centered around the global premium brand ‘ESSE.’ Digital screens and displays were installed throughout the booth, allowing attendees to quickly grasp KT&G’s overseas market penetration and achievements in the duty-free business. They also operated meeting rooms continuously to bolster existing partnerships and secure new partners, participating in various networking programs.

Cho Jae-young, the Global Business Head of KT&G, stated, "By participating in the world's largest duty-free exhibition, ‘TFWA World,’ we discussed new business opportunities with various overseas partners and reinforced brand awareness." He added, "Moving forward, through proactive new market development and global network expansion, we aim to secure a leading position in the duty-free market, proliferating post-pandemic transition."

KT&G first entered the global duty-free market in 1995 by launching ‘88 Light’ in the Chinese duty-free market. Presently, the company sells its products at duty-free outlets in 171 cities worldwide, totaling 434 locations, including domestic airport duty-free shops. Notably, it has expanded its duty-free business capabilities centered on the Asian market, having penetrated 28 of the top 30 airports in Asia. Using this exhibition as a stepping stone, KT&G plans to expand its duty-free business into regions such as Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South America.
