The KT&G Welfare Foundation held a ‘Vehicle Delivery Ceremony for Social Welfare Institutions’ at the Changdong Social Welfare Center in Seoul and donated 150 compact vehicles to social welfare organizations nationwide.

The KT&G Welfare Foundation has been supporting economical and highly mobile compact cars every year since 2004, reflecting the opinions of the field that a compact car that can operate on narrow alleys is necessary due to the characteristics of the welfare-beneficiary area. A total of 2,100 vehicles have been delivered to social welfare organizations nationwide so far this year.

In the vehicle support contest held in June, about 750 social welfare organizations nationwide, including general social welfare centers, welfare centers for the disabled, general welfare centers for the elderly, and local children's centers, participated. The KT&G Welfare Foundation finally selected 150 organizations that were judged to need support first through screening.

A KT&G official said, "Through the compact vehicle support project that has been running since 2004, we are reaching out to social workers who are volunteering in poor fields and to the underprivileged neighbors who are in the blind spot of welfare," and “we will continue to actively support activities to provide warmth to all parts of the local community and create a warm society”.

KT&G Welfare Foundation is a foundation established by KT&G in 2003 to communicate with the local community and actively fulfill corporate social responsibilities. It provides community-based welfare services through eight welfare centers across the country. In addition, it is actively participating in solving social problems by practicing sharing with neighbors in need such as low-income and social welfare facilities.
