The KT&G Scholarship Foundation is holding its ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’ for university students in order to discover talent in the area of social innovation.

The ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’ is being held to discover and nurture talent in the area of social innovation who can grow together while realizing social values under the theme of △ eco-friendliness, △ social innovation, and △ solving local community problems.

The first screening is a document screening, and there are plans to select 15 teams through a fair evaluation by experts in the relevant field. The selected teams will undergo training and interview screening, and the final 10 teams will be announced on November 30. All of the finally selected 10 teams will receive a small scholarship and a certificate of scholarship, and the top 6 teams will receive additional prize money.

The KT&G Scholarship Foundation signed an MOU with the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency for the smooth operation of the ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’, and decided to build a mutual cooperation system to spread social values and discover talent in the area of social innovation.

An official from the KT&G Scholarship Foundation said, “Through this contest, we expect university students to raise their awareness of social issues and come up with novel ideas." He added, "We will continue to provide scholarships to contribute to the spread of social values and nurture future generations through a wide range of activities.”
