The KT&G Scholarship Foundation will select “Scholarship Students Specializing in Arts and Sports for 2021”, targeting middle and high school students.

The KT&G Scholarship Foundation has been selecting “Scholarship Students Specializing in Arts and Sports” since 2016 to cultivate future talents in the arts and sports fields. About 50 arts and sports scholarship students have been received a total of KRW 600 million worth of scholarships to date.

On the 7th, the KT&G Scholarship Foundation signed a business agreement with the Korea Mecenat Association and the Korea National University of Arts, and held discussions for selecting “Scholarship Students Specializing in Arts and Sports for 2021”. Through this agreement, the KT&G Scholarship Foundation will provide scholarships to nurture talents in arts and sports, and the Korea Mecenat Association and the Korea National University of Arts will be in charge of various matters related to the selection of scholarship students.

Application for the scholarship students is available until the 16th through the recommendation by external organizations such as the Korea Mecenat Association and Korea National University of Arts. The final beneficiaries will be decided on the 21st after fair screening by the KT&G Scholarship Foundation. A total of 40 final beneficiaries will receive a scholarship of KRW 5 million per person.

An official from the KT&G Scholarship Foundation said, “We have discovered middle and high school students with talents in the arts and sports field and have been contributing to the development of the culture and art world by selecting ‘Scholarship Students Specializing in Arts and Sports’ for the last six years. We will continue to promote various scholarship programs to provide learning opportunities to more students and make efforts to become the hope of future generations”.

The KT&G Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit corporation established in 2008 by KT&G to practice the corporate philosophy of being a “Together Company”. The foundation has been steadily carrying out scholarship programs to support excellent students so they do not have to give up their studies for social and economic reasons. The number of beneficiaries thus far has reached 6,029 in total, and the cumulative support amount is KRW 34.4 billion.
