2020.09.21
KT&G (President: Baek Bok-In) is conducting “The 2020 Open Recruitment for Entry-Level and Experienced Employees.” This year, the company plans to recruit approximately 180 employees, which is a similar number to last year’s recruitments.
This year, the hiring of entry-level employees includes a screening for grade 6/researcher and grade 10 positions. Entry-level employees for grade 6/researcher positions are recruited for eight areas: △finance △sales & marketing △ manufacturing △raw materials △SCM △IT △global △R&D. The candidates for these positions should be graduates or prospective February 2021 graduates with four (4) years of regular university education. For the grade 10 positions targeted at entry-level employees in sales and production, prospective graduates (February 2021) of vocational schools such as Meister Schools can apply with a recommendation from their principals.
The hiring of experienced employees comprises screening for general and grade 8 positions. General positions are offered in the areas of finance and R&D, and global specialists and candidates with four-year university or higher-level degrees can apply for the position. Grade 8 positions are in the areas of manufacturing, printing, and raw materials, and candidates with a high school certificate or higher-level education can apply for the position. Applicants for experience-based positions should possess relevant experience (three or five years) in their respective areas of recruitment.
Applications can be submitted through the KT&G recruitment website (http://ktng.recruiter.co.kr) until the 13rd of the next month for entry-level workers, and the 6th of the next month for experienced workers. The candidates will go through the document screening process, working-level interviews, and executive-level interviews, and successful candidates will be announced in early December for entry-level workers, and late November for experienced workers. For purposes of fair employment, the overall hiring process will be done in a blind manner in which the applicant’s age and region of origin are not disclosed.
KT&G also plans to host an online recruitment briefing session to provide applicants with accurate recruitment information. This briefing session, which adopts the untact mode in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of applicants, will be held on the specialized recruitment website Jobflex (https://www.jobflex.com) twice, on September 23 and 25. The company’s personnel managers will provide explanations regarding the hiring process as well as available positions, and answer any questions that applicants may have.
In addition, the company is set to conduct AI-based interviews, which were first introduced last year, as part of its regular hiring process, in order to increase the objectivity of the hiring process. AI-based interviews will help enhance the fairness and reliability of the company’s hiring process by verifying applicants’ capabilities and personalities based on over 100 million cases of learning that have been evaluated by human resources experts.
A source related to KT&G said, “Despite the current difficulties in the business environment attributed to the COVID-19 crisis, we have maintained a similar level of recruitment to last year when we increased the number of new recruits to more than twice the 2018 recruitments. We will put forth every effort to contribute to the national economy through continuous job creation and active investment.”
In the meantime, the company plans to establish thorough quarantine measures such as quarantine activities before and after interviews, as well as the securing of medical professionals to ensure a safe recruitment process, and to fully comply with the guidelines given by public health authorities during the hiring process, including temperature checks and wearing masks throughout the entire process.
