KT&G Welfare Foundation is in the process of improving education and health environment in the rural areas of Vietnam.

The Foundation has selected two elementary schools and one health center in rural areas such as Soc Trăng Province to support the educational and health environment. From May until recently, we built new buildings and repaired aging facilities in the Thoi An Hoi 2 Elementary School located in Ke Sach County, Soc Trăng Province. In July, we dispatched the Welfare Foundation University Volunteer Corps to conduct various volunteer activities such as restroom construction and educational volunteer work.

After seven months of construction, five new classrooms and six restrooms were newly built at Thoi An Hoi Elementary School. To commemorate the construction of the classroom building, the Foundation held a ceremony on May 5 at Thoi An Hoi 2 Elementary School to deliver the necessary school supplies.

The KT&G Welfare Foundation is also carrying out environmental improvement projects for Ke Tan Elementary School and Binh An Village Health Center. By May next year, four classrooms and four restrooms will be built at Ke Tan Elementary School. The Binh An Village plans to build a health center and a restroom to expand medical facilities and improve hygiene.

An official of the KT&G Welfare Foundation said, “This education and health environment improvement project was conducted to provide a better educational environment for children in rural areas and to provide stable medical benefits to residents.” "We will actively participate in social contribution activities to help the underprivileged in Korea and abroad.".

Meanwhile, the KT&G Welfare Foundation is actively engaged in social contribution activities in ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. This year, Vietnam, which has a large economic gap between urban and rural areas, is selected as a support target to improve the poor educational and health environment in rural areas.
