The KT&G Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Kim Heung-ryul) published the first white paper containing the footsteps of the scholarship program for more than 10 years to support the underprivileged and foster future talent.
KT&G established the KT&G Scholarship Foundation, a public interest corporation, in 2008 to implement the corporate philosophy of “being together”. Since then, we have been supporting scholarships every year by selecting students who are developing their dreams of learning in difficult environments for more than a decade. As of last year, the cumulative beneficiaries reached 3,932 persons and the cumulative support amounted to KRW 25.2 billion.
This white paper includes the Foundation's business introduction and history, growth stories of selected scholars, and letters of thanks from the Foundation's scholars and their families. Particularly, the stories of arts scholarships and institutional youths who dream of soccer players and musical instrumentalists grow up with the support of the Scholarship Foundation.
The activities of the Scholarship Foundation are divided into 'imagination scholarship' and 'specialized scholarship'. Imagination scholarship programs include scholarships for children in social care and college students, and imagination scholarship camps. Specialized scholarship projects include scholarship programs for artistic talents, independence support for youths in facilities protection, and global talent development projects.
The scholarship foundation delivered the white paper to related institutions such as the DOE, major universities, and other corporate scholarship foundations. Details can also be found on the KT&G Scholarship Foundation website (https://scholarship.ktngtogether.com).
An official of the KT&G Scholarship Foundation said, “We have published the first white paper to reflect on the meaning and achievement of the scholarship program that has been continued for more than 10 years.” "We will continue to provide various support activities to solve the national challenge of educational opportunity inequality and foster future generations."
