The KT&G Welfare Foundation held a '2019 Social Welfare Institution Car Delivery Ceremony' on 25th Oct. at Hanam Disabled Welfare Center in Gyeonggi-do and provided 100 vehicles to 100 social welfare institutions across the country.

Since 2004, KT&G Welfare Foundation has been providing social welfare institutions with economical and maneuverable economic vehicles every year for 16 years. This is a result of the opinion that many of the beneficiaries live in the narrow alleys where large cars are hard to enter, and that light cars are needed. As of this year, 1,600 vehicles have been delivered to social welfare agencies nationwide since 2004.

More than 800 social welfare organizations nationwide participated in the vehicle assistance contest held in June, including the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, the Disabled Welfare Center, the General Elderly Welfare Center, and the Regional Children's Center. The KT & G Welfare Foundation went through a fair review and finally selected 100 organizations that were deemed necessary for assistance.

An official from the KT&G Welfare Foundation said, “We are proud to be able to carry out a vehicle support project that can be a solid foothold for social workers for 16 years.” "We will try to figure out what our neighbors are looking for in the future and give them practical help."

The KT&G Welfare Foundation is a foundation established by KT&G in 2003 to communicate with local communities and fulfill corporate social responsibility. It provides community-based welfare services through eight Happiness Network Welfare Centers. The company is sharing in difficult neighborhoods and communities such as low-income families and social welfare facilities, and is actively participating in solving social problems.
