KT&G (CEO Baek Bok In) will recruit the 4th KT&G Sangsang Startup Camp, which is a youth startup support project, by October 4.
'Sangsang Startup Camp' is a program to find and nurture young entrepreneurs who want to solve social problems. 14 weeks of curriculum training for social innovation startups will be conducted. In particular, dedicated entrepreneurs' coaching, team-specific mentoring, and commercialization of entrepreneurship items are supported.
Anyone interested in solving social problems can participate, and the entire process is free of charge. Documents are taken from the KT&G Sangsang Startup Camp website (http://ktngstartupcamp.com). The items to be written are motivation for support, capability, and ideas for social innovation.. The total number of participants is 45.
To help you understand the program, a briefing session will be held on September 25 at ‘Change Makers’ in Seongsu-dong. After the announcement of the successful applicants, the introductory camp will be held on October 28 and the actual entrepreneurship training program will be held until February next year.
KT&G has been supporting youth entrepreneurship since 2017 to contribute to creating youth jobs. Entrepreneurs from the first to third phases of the “Sangsang Start-up Camp” achieved total sales of around 2.4 billion won and the entry of a total of 24 teams into the government-funded ‘Social Enterprise Development Project’. In July, KT&G received a commendation from the Minister of Employment and Labor for excellence of the social entrepreneur support program. In 2020, the private space is set to open in order to lay the foundation for mid-to-long term support for youth start-ups.
An official of KT&G said, “We will help young people with social innovation ideas grow into innovative entrepreneurs through systematic team building, item commercialization, and practical coaching.” "We look forward to the interest of prospective entrepreneurs who are interested in solving various social problems."
