KT&G(CEO, Baek Bok In) received a commendation from the Minister of Employment and Labor at the Daejeon Convention Center on May 5 at the awards ceremony for the "2019 Social Enterprise Promotion Ceremony" hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The awards ceremony was held in order to expand the social services that are lacking in our society and to discover the excellent cases that create new jobs and to spread the value of social enterprises.
KT&G launched 'KT & G Sangsang Start-up Camp' to discover and nurture prospective social entrepreneurs and provided 3 billion KRW in total in 3 times from September 2017 to March 2019, It was highly recognized as a corporate training course and received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award.
The 'KT&G Sangsang Start-up Camp', a start-up support program, focuses on youth entrepreneurs who want to solve social problems such as environmental preservation and support for the underprivileged through business. Unlike existing programs that support teams ready for start-up, it is characterized by concentrating on preliminary businessmen such as selecting a team and an individual who dreams of starting up a business and helping them from the team building process.
In particular, we have introduced a coaching system that matches existing entrepreneurs to provide 14-week training on business item analysis, benchmarking workshops, and branding strategy, and various courses such as management of various indicators, professional coaching by fields, and focused on cultivating the skills that are needed in business.
Kim Kyeong Dong, head of KT & G's social contribution office, said, "KT & G has contributed greatly to the activation of social enterprises and expansion of the base by producing 55 teams from 2017, As we are planning to open the Young Entrepreneurs Support Center in Social Venture Valley in Sungsoo-dong, We will make efforts to build a sustainable social enterprise start-up ecosystem."
