KT&G publishes third sustainability report

This report faithfully reflects the guidelines recommended by the international certification organization GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and was awarded the group’s highest rating, A+, following the last report.
KT&G stated that the report describes major achievements with respect to sustainable management from 2010 to 2011 and that it was configured for readers to search easily,
categorizing items of interest to various stakeholders into six sectors: Strengthening of corporate competitiveness, customer satisfaction, ethics management, human resource development, environmental and social performance.
Young-Jin Min, the CEO of KT&G said, “The publication of this report is an opportunity to complement any shortcomings and to internalize the sustainable management capability of KT&G.” He reiterated that “KT&G will strive to remain a trusted corporate citizen from a diverse range of stakeholders.”
From 2010, KT&G has been selected two years running for the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which is an evaluation index for the management of corporate social responsibility, demonstrating the international recognition of the sustainable management efforts by KT&G. As a venue to consistently demonstrate the will of the corporation toward sustainable management, it also participated in the UN Global Compact, which is an organization for social ethics and international environmental concerns.
